transtex® RETR’X

Function in every fiber: this is what the name LÖFFLER stands for five decades now. The transtex® technology was a milestone. With its groundbreaking properties, it revolutionized sportswear in the 70s. Since then, its innovative further development has constantly set new standards for sweat transport and breathability in every season. This is also the case with RETR’X – the new generation of sustainable functional underwear. ISPO Award 2022 winner and MADE IN GREEN by OEKO-TEX® certified.

For our 50th anniversary in 2023 we are taking the next step: RETR’X – The functional underwear in a new, particularly sustainable transtex® quality. From Austria, from Europe. And from responsibility.

For RETR’X we combine recycled polypropylene with the sustainable recot2 cotton fiber for the first time. The basis for transtex® is the synthetic fiber polypropylene. Its highly functional properties – it is one of the lightest fibers and does not absorb liquid itself, but passes it on quickly – make it perfect for endurance sports. To continue to guarantee the highest level of function without sacrificing polypropylene, we have chosen a recycled polypropylene fiber for RETR’X instead of classic polypropylene.

For warmth insulation and soft wearing comfort, the outer layer is also made of recot2, a premium yarn. This consists of 25% recycled cotton and 75% GOTS certified organic cotton. The cotton used is neither dyed nor bleached, is GRS and Standard 100 by OEKO-Tex certified and saves approx. 5,000 l of water in the production of 1 kg of yarn.

Like all LÖFFLER underwear products, RETR’X is 100% produced at our company headquarters in Ried im Innkreis. The production in Ried is STEP-certified, all suppliers and partners come from Europe and are also STEP-certified. Also, the recycled materials are of course harmless to health and free of harmful substances. This is confirmed by the OEKO-TEX® Standard 100.

The proven transtex® technology is used, which is based on a two-layer knitted fabric in which the polypropylene on the inside quickly transports moisture away from the skin. The second, outer layer “stores” this moisture and releases it further to the outside. transtex® keeps you dry and warm without overheating, even during highly athletic use.

The two-layer knit is composed of 68% recycled polypropylene and 32% sustainable recot² cotton. This makes RETR’X not only sustainable, but also ensures natural climate management of the body, a dry skin feeling and pleasant wearing comfort.

Highly functional sportswear without compromising on quality and performance – and at the same time careful use of valuable resources: this is the claim that drives us at LÖFFLER. We live responsibility, regionally and sustainably.
