Sustainable & fair sportswear
from Austria.

What does “regional” mean to you? For us, it is not an empty word. It is our promise, our philosophy. At LÖFFLER we don’t just make sportswear, we live it – in terms of origin and production.

Regional added value a matter of the heart

In a world where ecological challenges are becoming increasingly urgent, we are setting an example: Made in Austria/Europe. We are not only a brand, but also a producer. What we make, but above all how we make it, is of crucial importance. Every piece that leaves our house is a promise to you and to our planet.

Our answer to global challenges? Local action. Together we can make a difference and shape a livable world for future generations.

We

  • produce climate neutrally since 2020,
  • use only materials that are harmless to health and free of harmful substances,
  • stand for social responsibility and fairness towards our employees,
  • assume ecological responsibility in production,
  • rely on renewable sources for energy supply (own PV system, geothermal energy, air-source heat pump),
  • are committed to the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals,
  • and show transparently in the sustainability report which other measures and goals we are pursuing.

This is our understanding of regionality. We strive for this in our daily work. Out of passion and conviction – because it is important to us where something comes from and how it is made.

What we stand for

RESPONSIBILITY

We consciously produce sustainably and fairly in Austria and stand for the highest social standards, short transport routes and a clean environment.

QUALITY

Comprehensive know-how of the employees, the development and production of our own materials on site and the highest quality standards are the ingredients for the unique Löffler quality.

INNOVATION

To continuously improve the function of our products: With this aim in mind, we are constantly developing new, innovative products and knitting technologies in our own knitting factory.

Sustainable sportswear: We live regional responsibility

We want to create one thing: Produce highly functional and high quality sportswear and do it in a sustainable and responsible way. What separates us from other manufacturers is that we are not only a brand, but also a producer.

In our knitting factory in Ried im Innkreis, 70% of our fabrics are produced. This saves us a lot of CO2, as our goods do not have to be transported around the globe to reach you.

Why is sustainable production of sportswear important?

Functional sportswear is primarily made of synthetic fibers. These fibers have the best properties for sportswear and sports fashion. Weight, absorption of moisture and elasticity are the best here. Artificial fibers or synthetic fibers are made from plastic, which in turn is derived from petroleum. For our environment, a polluting process.

As a producer of only high quality products and outfitter of the world’s best top athletes, we cannot compromise on the fibers we use. Where we are convinced by the quality of a recycled alternative, we use it. Like our PRIMALOFT® GOLD winter jackets, for example, where the filling is made of 55% recycled fibers. Our goal is of course to look for more sustainable solutions, where at the same time the quality remains at the constant high level.

Two important points for us are:

  • Durability
  • Repairability

Durability: Our products should be used for many years. That’s why they are manufactured responsibly and go through several quality checks before they end up in sports retailers. This way, you can rely on the functionality for as long as possible. It is not uncommon for us to receive messages from customers who have been wearing the same Löffler jacket for decades.

Repairability: We offer our own repair service for our products. Here again we have the advantage that we produce ourselves and have our fabrics many years back in stock. Sustainable sportswear does not have to be thrown away after a scratch. They can be repaired and in many cases look like new again.

What is sustainable sportswear for us?

We understand sustainable sportswear as the most careful use of our resources. Be it natural or synthetic raw materials. We use natural products where it makes sense for us and where it is an equal alternative to synthetic raw materials.

We use renewable energies and have constantly optimized our energy consumption in terms of economy and efficiency over the years. Here we have already taken a sustainable path, which we will continue to follow.

Since we produce exclusively in Austria and Europe, the strict labor guidelines of the EU apply to us. We pay fair wages and ensure social working conditions. For us, our employees have an enormous value.

What is the difference between Löffler and other sports brands?

In the development of our sportswear, we use only materials that serve the functionality. Our sports fashion is designed to be worn for perspiring endurance sports. Although you can also wear our sportswear in your free time, the main reason for use is and remains endurance sports itself. For this reason we do not produce clothing in pure cotton. The reason for this is that cotton is not very suitable for the production of high-quality sportswear. Simply because the properties of cotton, are less beneficial to the purpose of sportswear. Cotton, either organic or conventional, has the property that it absorbs liquid very strongly, but does not transport it to the outside, but soaks. This has the effect that the sportswear feels heavy and the wet clothes also cool your body. In addition, sports fashion made of organic cotton is less elastic and only partially breathable. The production of organic cotton also requires large amounts of land and water. This makes the production of cotton more difficult.

For us, the use of the material PP or polypropylene has proven itself. Since it has very good properties for the production of endurance sportswear. This is a synthetic fiber and not a natural fiber. Which fibers we use, you can find on the page “Better products”.
